Jason Hill's  (mostly) Mountain Biking Log.....

9/23/00 34 Miles.  Road ride down the east bay hills.  Myself.  Starting by heading up Oxford, I quickly entered Wildcat Canyon and then transitioned into Tilden.  Continuing up past the golf course, I got onto Grizzly peak and followed it on to Skyline.  I then took Skyline down to where it meets Joaquin Miller Road where I turned around and headed back up.  Eventually I came down from Grizzly peak to the Claremont and crossed over the top edge of the campus to head into Soda Hall.

9/16/00 29.5 Miles.  Mount Tam and Bolinas Ridge, Phil, Scott and I.  Starting out north of Mt Tam, we quickly headed up to the east peak via Eldridge Grade passing by Lake Lagunitas.  from the summit, we headed west, past the West Peak and north on to Rocky Ridge. We then headed west again towards Stinson Beach to catch the Bolinas Ridge.  What a view.... Looking strait down into the Stinson beach area!!!  Heading north on the ridge we came to the south end of the Bolinas Ridge Trail before heading back east towards the start.

9/10/00 22.4 Miles.  Joaquin Miller Regional Park, Sean, Phil, (4 CAL team guys) and I.  Starting out at Sproul Plaza, we made quick work of Tunnel Road to take us to the Skyline gate of Redwood Canyon.  We took a short section of West Ridge Trail before heading off down into Joaquin Miller Park.  Taking a couple of trails including Cinderella, Chaparral, ... we eventually called it a day and headed down the road into the Oakland Hills by the 13.  Wandering through a maze of little streets lefts us back on College avenue which we took back to campus.

9/9/00 17 Miles.  Mt. Diablo, Phil and I.  Starting off of Green Valley road at the south west side of the park, we climbed Wall Point trial to Pine Canyon.  We then took the grueling, hot ride up BBQ Terrace to South Gate Road.  From there we headed up Summit Trail (where I met a very prickly bush) to Green Ranch Trail  After a steep descent we caught up with Frog Pond and took it down to Curry Canyon. After a quick ride up the valley we were at Curry Point where we headed down South Gate Road to Wall Point, which lead us back to the start.

9/4/00 35.2 Miles.  Mt. Tam Phil and I  We embarked on an epic journey over the Marin Hills.  Starting near Phoenix Lake, we traveled up Eldridge Grade to the East Peak summit of Mt. Tam.  From there we descended down the Costal and Deer Park trails to Muir Beach.  We departed Muir beach on the Coastal Trail up to Coyote Ridge Trial which dropped us down into Tennessee Valley.  From there we took a bike trail through Mill Valley and headed up Old Railroad Grade toward Mt. Tam.  We then went down Hoo Koo E Koo trail to the Indian Fire Road, which dropped us back into the valley just east of our starting point.

9/3/00 Briones Regional Park 15.5 Miles.  Scott and I.  Went out to Briones on a nice Sunday afternoon.  We headed up Abrigo Valley to the Briones Crest Trail.  From there we descended down Toyon Canyon and Orchard Trail.  Heading up Alhambra Valley to Spengler we made our way back to Old Briones Road which we took back to the west side of the park.  We then headed up Crescent Ridge to Briones crest trail which we took back past Briones peak to the summit of Old Briones Road.  From there we continued on Briones Crest to Mott Peak and dropped back into Abrigo Valley for the trip back to the car.

8/28/00 Tilden Regional Park 12 Miles.  Phil and I. Taking a quick after work ride, we headed up the Big Springs Trail to the top of the Sea View trail.  From there we headed down the Sea View trail to the Meadows Canyon Trail.  We then headed up the Wildcat Gorge trail to the Curran trail which lead us back to the car.  A nice workout to end the day.

8/23/00 Sedona, AZ Approx 30 Miles.  My Father and I.  On a last minute trip to Sedona, my father and I took our mountain bikes and headed for the hills.  Taking a fairly complete tour of the area we were able to head to the East of the town covering some jeep trails and single tracks.  We pass the famous bell and cathedral rock before heading south to Oak Dale(??) for lunch.  From there we headed north/west so that we could re-enter Sedona from the west.

8/20/00 Big Bear, CA 15 Miles.  My Father, Brother, Stacey and I.  Heading up the fire roads surrounding Snow Summit, we climbed to the top of the ridge before descending down the Pine Knott Trail to our starting point.

8/13/00  Redwood Canyon Regional Park Approx 15 miles.  Phil, Scott and I. Starting from Skyline gate, we headed down the start of the west ridge trail but quickly transferred into Joaquin Miller Park.  From there we took a collection of trails down to the intersection of Mountain and Joaquin Miller roads.  Hen we headed up Joaquin Miller road to Redwood Road and headed up Monteiro Trail. This lefts us back on the West Ridge trail which we took into the valley at the south end of the park.  From there we headed up Canyon trail to the East Ridge trail and back to the car.
